چکیده
A 38 year old woman presented with a short history of headache, double vision, and rotatory vertigo. Medical history was negative except years of nicotine misuse. Cranial MRI disclosed a large infarction in the area supplied by the left posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA). Occlusion of the left vertebral artery was confirmed by MR angiography. Five months later, she was again admitted with headache, vomitus, and marked meningism. Cranial CT showed sub-arachnoid haemorrhage pronounced in the basal cisterns. Cerebral panangiography disclosed no vascular abnormality which could have explained the subarachnoid haemorrhage. Due to the angiography negative subarachnoid haemorrhage

متن کاملCerebral Venous and Dural Sinus Thrombosis as a Rare Cause of Subarachnoid Haemorrhage in a Patient with Stable Crohn’s Disease - A Case Report
Subarachnoid haemorrhage is a known but rare manifestation of cerebral venous and dural sinus thrombosis. We present a case of a 62-year-old female with stable Crohn’s disease, who developed thunderclap headache with nausea. Upon presentation, she had no meningism and her neurological examination was normal. Unenhanced computed tomography (CT) revealed a small subarachnoid haemorrhage in the ri...
متن کاملANATOMIC CORRELATION BE TWEEN INTIMAL PATHOLOGY AND CEREBRAL VASOSPASM FOLLOWING SUBARACHNOID HEMORRHAGE
Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) resulting from a ruptured intracranial aneurysm can induce cerebral vasospasm with subsequent reduction in cerebral blood flow (CBF). The present study examines the pathological alterations in the wall of human cerebral arteries at autopsy, especially with regard to intimal pathology, following aneurysmal SAH. Arterial segments from the circle of Willis were fi...
متن کاملComparative Efficacy of Meloxicam and Placebo in Vasospasm of Patients with Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Cerebral vasospasm considered to be a serious cause of morbidity and mortality following subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH).Despite several available therapeutic options, current protocols do not prevent major consequences of vasospasm. Inflammation is believed to play an important role in post-haemorrhagic vasospasm. Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. The aim of this study was to...
